Pride of the Buckeye's Marching Band Figurines
The Ohio State University marching band started as a 12 piece, all male ROTC band during its humble beginnings, today The Ohio State University Band is much more diverse. Since 1976 the band's membership has held steady at 225 marching members. Each fall more than 400 student-musicians try out for the 225 open slots in the band, every member must try out each year! The band's instrumentation is all brass and percussion making it unique among college bands, patterned after traditional British military brass bands. One of college footballs' most celebrated traditions is performed by The Ohio State Unversity Band when the band takes the field in the Horseshoe to "dot the i." For many of the Buckeye's most loyal fans and alumni, the band is simply referred to as "The Best Damn Band in The Land" or "TBDBITL."
